Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise Expands Operations into Syria Through FlyIAA

Damascus, Syria — July 26, 2026

Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise (IAE), the global aviation group and parent company of Intercontinental Aviation Academy (FlyIAA), has officially expanded its operations into Syria with the opening of FlyIAA's office in Damascus, marking a significant milestone in the Group's regional growth strategy and long-term commitment to supporting the development of Syria's aviation sector.

IAE's First Operational Presence in Syria

The new office represents IAE's first operational presence in Syria and will serve as the local headquarters for FlyIAA, providing aspiring pilots with access to admissions, student support, career guidance, and internationally recognized aviation education services. As part of this expansion, FlyIAA has officially commenced the licensing process to establish a comprehensive aviation academy in Syria, offering both ground school and practical flight training in accordance with international aviation standards.

Immediate Access to Pilot Training

Until the academy is fully licensed and operational, Syrian students can begin their aviation journey through FlyIAA's international training network, enrolling locally before completing their flight training at FlyIAA campuses across Europe and the Middle East. This provides immediate access to world-class pilot training while laying the foundation for future aviation education within Syria.

Announced at FlyIAA's Inaugural Open Day

The announcement was made during FlyIAA's inaugural Open Day at the Golden Mazzeh Hotel in Damascus, attended by senior government officials, representatives of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, aviation industry leaders, FlyIAA Board members, strategic partners, media representatives, and aspiring pilots.

Captain Wissam Al Mehyou, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise, described the expansion as an important milestone in the Group's vision to support the growth of emerging aviation markets:

"Our expansion into Syria reflects Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise's long-term commitment to contributing to the country's evolving aviation sector. As Syria continues to enhance and modernize its civil aviation industry, we are proud to be part of that journey, not only through FlyIAA's pilot training initiatives, but by working alongside government authorities, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners to help develop aviation capabilities and create sustainable opportunities for future generations. We see tremendous potential in the country's aviation future and look forward to supporting its growth through education, infrastructure, innovation, and long-term investment."

The strong attendance at the launch demonstrated broad support from government institutions, aviation authorities, educational partners, and industry stakeholders for expanding aviation education and creating new pathways for future generations of Syrian aviation professionals.

Part of IAE's Continued International Growth

The expansion into Syria represents another strategic milestone in Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise's continued international growth. Through its portfolio of aviation companies, IAE continues to strengthen its presence across Europe and the Middle East while delivering world-class aviation education, operational excellence, and long-term investment in the future of global aviation. The establishment of operations in Syria reinforces the Group's vision of connecting regional talent with international opportunities while contributing to the advancement of the country's aviation ecosystem.
