Australian Air Force Cadets Welcomed at Airways Aviation Information Night

Airways Aviation recently had the honour of hosting 30 enthusiastic Australian Air Force Cadets from the 213 Squadron in Elanora, Queensland. The purpose of this hosted event was to provide these future aviation leaders with a glimpse into the world of aviation and the possibilities of further learning and career pathways.

As the cadets from the 213 Squadron arrived at the Airways Aviation academy, they were greeted with views of our expansive Hangar and Gold Coast Airport’s active runways: getting a good view of the real-world airport environment available at Airways Aviation.

The cadets had the opportunity to tour the hangars and the aircraft, meet the team and gain an overall understanding of the daily operations at the academy, including gaining a better understanding of safety.

Our knowledgeable instructors and aviation professionals were on hand to answer questions, provide demonstrations, and share their own experiences. Cadets had the opportunity to explore aircraft up close, learning about their mechanics and the intricacies of aviation technology.

"The cadets really enjoyed the experience. We thank you, and the wonderful staff, for creating an environment for the cadets to feel comfortable to observe, ask questions, learn more about the aviation field, and enjoy the unique experience." Commented Commanding Officer Joanna Lattimer, after the event.

Cadets were encouraged to participate actively, ask questions, and get up close to the flight simulators and open cockpits. These activities allowed them to immerse themselves in the world of aviation and develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to become a pilot.

The sense of unity and shared purpose really shone through during this event. The cadets, alongside Airways Aviation staff and instructors, forged connections that will undoubtedly serve them well in their future endeavours and Airways Aviation look forward to hosting many more events like this one for other local squadrons in the future.

Airways Aviation is proud to have played a role in nurturing the dreams of these passionate aviators, and we look forward to witnessing their achievements and welcoming a number of them to the academy as they soar to new heights in the world of aviation.
